Professor Schroeder's Ultrafast Physics Group specializes in the development of novel measurement techniques employing ultrashort (picosecond and femtosecond) laser pulses. Current projects include ultrafast electron microscopy (UEM) and picosecond electron paramagnetic (ps-EPR) spectroscopy. Custom home-built and mode-locked lasers, based on the versatile thermal-lens-shaping (TLS) technology invented by Prof. Schroeder and developed in the group, are used as the pulsed radiation sources for these research projects.
